QUT • Lecture Theatre Modernisation

In addition to office refurbishment S360 has also undertaken several modernisations of old (and acoustically poor) lecture theatres. Considerable thought in design was needed to significantly improve the acoustics. Existing equipment (such as desking and some seating) was reused where appropriate to save costs whilst modernising the whole theatre.

Client Testimonial: “I engaged S360 to upgrade two lecture theatres one at Kelvin Grove and the other at Gardens Point Campus. The scope entailed Acoustic upgrade, new floor coverings, stair nosings, seating and lighting upgrades as the lecture theatres hold 230 and 180 people. The rooms had a echo sound that made listening to the lecturer difficult for students and also for the presenters themselves. After completion of the refurbishment, Audio Visual Services contacted me stating the Acoustic is excellent and sound projection has improved 100%. The rest of the refurbishment looks exceptional with many comments of a positive manner from other staff who have visited the sites.

Many thanks goes to Gary Hogan for his professional project managing skills and Ross Burrows who’s initiatives and craftsman like work skills are a credit to himself and S360.

I look forward to working with these two people on the next assignment."
